From a quick read I gather that they are combining the idea of photonic chips, which have been around for decades but which lose their data when power is turned off; with the idea of writable CD's, which are based on light and do have persistent memory.
They put these two ideas together and it's working, but only in the lab. "There are still some hurdles that must be overcome before a solution based on the team’s technology reaches market. For one, their prototypes have thus far been hundreds of times larger than commercial memory chips."
So you can't go down to Fry's and pick up a handful of these quite yet.
So...I'm wondering... am I destroying the patent office... have I patented the light hard drives...or is this just the old send a letter to yourself trick....did I shared this idea with the world because I have no money to develop it myself.....did I put this down to prove that I'm not an idiot like I was told I am...is my 139 IQ here real or all those internet IQ test might be bogus...Do you all assume that inventing the light hard drives was eazy for me...am I an inventor or a shape master....or do I feel that I should stay with intelligent people and just grow with you... not alone... although I been working alone and feels nice...but I always had this push called love that I been thought since birth to be part of this planet. I'm I arrogant at this is the right way to make break throughs. FOod for thought =
Here i have a over simplified model that shows that hollograms are possible. I have a more advanced model witch i will keep for myself for now. Light hard drives are not in the distant future. The next step i quess is to figure out the math behind it.
