Apologies if this is placed in the wrong forum. I would like to calculate the amount of tension in a rope when it is configured in the diagram attached. The diagram below represents a 4'x8'x3/8" sheet of plywood being bowed by the tension (through twisting) of the rope. I realize that the tension in the rope is equal to the resistance in the plywood which will change over time as the plywood accepts it's new shape, but I am wondering what the initial forces in the rope would be; and whether each part of the rope experiences the same force.
