Compass modules sinewave output correction

Hi,

I'm trying to centre the outputs of a compass module HMC5983

These modules output 3x sinewaves WORD values, generated by 3x magnetic resistors XYZ.

I'm finding that they aren't central, because of external influences (metal etc) and need centering.

I think what I need to do is find the centre of each sinewave. Take 'X' for example. By aiming the module to 90° and reading halfway along the sinewave. When the module is moved to zero and 180 it should show 0 and 65535. It doesn't, so the sinewave needs a +/- correction.

My question (after all that) is 1/2 way along the sinewave, what will the number be between 0 and 65535?

Cheers, Camerart.
