Find the probability that the buyer will select no garage Please how we can now from this question if A and B are independent and how we can know if here is mutuality exclusive or not

Find the probability that the buyer will select no garage
Very simple. p(no garage) = 1- p(one garage) - p(two garage) = 0.1. This is only true if we suppose (unlike your text) that 3 or more garage are not possible. If we don't know this fact, then there is no solution obviously.

I reckon you meant by A and B that A = one garage and B = two garages. In that case your assumption doesn't make sense. Two (non-elementary) cases are independent if P(A and B) = P(A)*P(B). But two elementary cases never can be independent, because they are mutually exclusive, that is P(A and B) = P(impossible) = 0. If someone has exactly one garage then he can't have exactly two garages.
