I have a probability question I could use some help with. If a quarterback completes 60% of his passes and a wide receiver catches 75% of the passes thrown his way, what percentage of passes thrown by that quarterback to that wide receiver will be caught, assuming the league average completion rate is 55%? Is there a formula to calculate this or at least come up with an estimate? Thanks. Last edited by skipjack; April 16th, 2018 at 12:02 PM.

The question is too vague, If the quarterback and the receiver are on the same team and always playing together, 75% will be caught. The other numbers don't matter.
