Conditional Probability Easy question

How come on the first question he did not add 3/20? to 3/20 + 6/20? Was it cause it was separated by the word "OR" meant it was a different problem?

Should the answer be 3/20 + 3/20 +6/20 = 12/20

There were two questions in the video: P(Yellow), which is 3/20, and P(Red or Purple), which is 9/20.
