Hi all, Any help would be appreciated. A fibre reinforced composite has 25% volume of carbon fibres with a modulus elasticity of 150.00GPa. The remaining matrix material is polyester resin with a modulus elasticity of 3.10 GPa. Use the homogenous strain model (parallel) to calculate and upper limit for the effective young's modulus of the composite material? I have come across the following formula from reseach: Ec = EmVm + EfVf Thanks.
