If Elon Musk is keen, anything is possible.

If Elon Musk is involved, the profits will be private and the losses socialized. His business model is losing money on his goods and services and making it up with taxpayer subsidies.

Do you have an argument to the contrary?

You should Google around. Find out how Elon Musk makes his money. It's not a secret. The WSJ and the LA Times among others have reported the story.

There are many other such articles, far too many to list here. Was this information unknown to you before you posted?

You're telling me that you have a problem with a portion of your tax going toward the exploration of space and possibly us getting off this planet?

Do you have any other solutions for space exploration? Or what would you rather the money be spent on?

The privatisation of the space industry is the best thing since sliced bread.

The only way this comment is valid is if you assume that i assume that this event will occur within the next say, 100 - 150 years. It's useless otherwise.

I only just noticed this part, might have been in your edit.

I don't really see your point. We could look at all the billionaires of the world today and find equally as many articles on similar topics. i.e., everyone with money/power has dirt.
