Angular speed is the rate at which an object spins or rotates, usually given in revolutions per second. A common unit in physics for angular speed is radians per second. An arc length s is related to the radius and angular displacement by: $\theta$ Differentiate with respect to time t: $\frac{ds}{dt}=r\frac{d\theta}{dt}$ $v=r\omega$ 4. The speed of the tip of the main rotor is: $v=r\omega=(3.8\text{ m.})\left(450\cdot\frac{2\pi\text{ rad.}}{\text{min.}}\right)\left(\frac{1\text{ min.}}{60\text{ s}}\right)\approx179.07\text{ \frac{m.}{s.}}$ The speed of the tip of the tail rotor is: $v=r\omega=(0.51\text{ m.})\left(4138\cdot\frac{2\pi\text{ rad.}}{\text{min.}}\right)\left(\frac{1\text{ min.}}{60\text{ s}}\right)\approx221.00\text{ \frac{m.}{s.}}$
