Proof of Goldbach Conjecture?

Hi, I saw this proof of Goldbach's conjecture on arxiv quite a while ago, though I was too occupied checking it for mistakes than posting it on this forum. I stopped after just a few pages because the concepts started to get kinda messed up. I don't know if it is correct, and that is why I created this post; is the proof right?

Re: Proof of Goldbach Conjecture?

No, I don't think it's correct.

Here's a secret: when thre arXiv moderators get a paper that they think is... uh... apparently wrong (in the "crackpot" or "crank" sense) they move it to GM, General Mathematics rather than what would otherwise be its correct location (NT, Number Theory).

Otherwise, look at Scott Aaronson's Ten Signs a Claimed Mathematical Breakthrough is Wrong. This paper fails 1, 6, 8, and 10. So already my Bayesian prior is pretty strongly inclined toward, "this paper is wrong". #3 seems likely but I'd have to dive deeper to find out for sure.

If I had the time and patience I'd search for the first substantive mistake in the paper to prove that it's wrong. But until then all I can do is share the reasons I suspect it isn't right.

Re: Proof of Goldbach Conjecture?

Even the title seems strange. Since it is known empirically that Goldbach is true for all evens up to numbers vastly greater than 364, proving it for all evens greater than 364 would be tantamount to proving it outright. Can the author, who cited the empirical, really not have figured THAT out????

Having just glanced through the paper and not being a mathematician anywhere near CRG's rank, I am somewhat reluctant to say much more but I am fairly sure that some of the math that they are relying on would at best yield a probabilistic result anyway. We already know the high probability of Goldbach.

It really is. I've read all his blog entries, they're quite good.

Are you asking whether there is an accepted proof of Goldbach posted anywhere? No, because there is no accepted proof as of yet.

Re: Proof of Goldbach Conjecture?

iam not asking about its proof but am asking if any one got any unsolved problem solved where he has to post that proof to recognise from mathematicians
