Data Plotting Help

Hi all - my name's Shaun, I am new to this forum. I am hoping that someone here might be able to help me. I am trying to plot some data and so far had no luck in doing so

I have uploaded a .zip archive which contains a excel spreadsheet with all my data. What I am trying to do is map out the the rail system (in Auckland, NZ) for modelling on several rail simulators.

Any help is much appreciated

Re: Data Plotting Help

EDIT: It may have something to do with a transition curve? Any ideas?

You'll get more help in a spreadsheet forum than a math forum. Spreadsheets will do graphs on data. You don't say what sort of graph or any further information. Go to a spreadsheet forum and try to be more specific if you want real help on this. I won't try to answer it here. The OpenOffice forum [there are two slightly related ones] is usually helpful. Google for that site. And ask nicely. They don't like people who do nothing and expect everything.

I don't even understand what you're asking for, so I don't think I could help.

Re: Data Plotting Help

Ok

Basically - the zip file attached contains a spreadsheet with track lengths and the radius of the curve. We know how long the curve is & its radius - what i am trying to do is draw them correctly. There is a formula that involves algebra (i think). I was able to calculate the angle but that was useless as the curve doesnt "flow".

Here's the wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Track_transition_curve

If i can get the correct formula to be able to draw atleast one or 2 - then i'm sure i'll be able to work it into excel.

Side Note: If this is posted in the incorrect forum - where would I go to find the help im looking for?

Re: Data Plotting Help

Not so simple a study, I think. For example: http://www.2dcurves.com/spiral/spirale.html
