Huge incoming traffic

Hello,

Some of you may have experienced a momentary slow down of the forum; this is due to the HUGE amount of traffic we have been receiving these two days by stumbleupon.com (roughly speaking, the number of visitors to this website has been multiplied by *dozens*). I hope this is not going to crash the server, which it will inextricably do if this inflow is sustained.

Unfortunately, the traffic sent is not quite targetted ... I'm currently looking at the stats counter and it seems like it's going to blow up ...

Earlier today, I saw at the bottom that there were currently 16 guests. Right now, the counter is at 7.

Look at the other statistic on the bottom of the main page:

Now it's getting more reasonable, but yesterday at around 8am (Beijing Time) we were receiving around 20 visitors per *minute*, and this for many hours (this is the basis of a high traffic website and our server cannot handle this over a long period of time). I say this is untargeted because over a hundred people usually a few of them will sign up, but none did. This is the principle of stumble upon: people are bored and they click to be proposed a random website vaguely corresponding to their preferences or previously visited websites that they rated favorably.

And people who think like that are probably too lazy to like math anyway. If they liked math, then they would have probably come looking for a forum anyway, rather than just aimlessly wandering around.
