Hi Guys Am stuck on a question which i thought i figured the answer for but came back wrong. The relationship between Shear Stress (σ) and direct stress (σx and σy) was found to be of the form; σ= (σx  σy)sin e (20) ...........2 the dots so i could move the two directly under the fraction....thats all Find the value of the direct stress (σy) when the value of the shear stress (σ) is 25 MNm2, the value of (σx) is 80 MNm2 and the value of the angle of the plane (θ) to the horizontal is 25°.
