So, we plug in our point for x and y: -3 = (3)(-2) + b (you should solve tis for practice before looking below) -3 = -6 + b b = 3 Now, we have the equation: y=3x+3 But, we want it in standard form, so the constant is the only thing on the right side; so, we subtract 3x: y-3x=3 And we're done.
