Computer Games

Does anyone like tactical games? Like Warcraft, Starcraft, Age Of Empires, etc?
I love them, especially Starcraft 2: Wings Of Liberty. That's a great game!

Re: Computer Games

I was so inspired by Warcraft II when I first played it that I resolved to write a better version of it. 18 months I worked on that... no real surprise that it wasn't. But it was pretty good for a 6th grader.

Re: Computer Games

6th grader? Thank you for making me feel terribly old. There were no computer games when I was in 6th grade.

My brother has Starcraft and Age of Empires. Does he count? I'm not into those, but I do play computer games, mostly RPG's and adventures, with other occasional things thrown in.

Atari's home version of Pong was released during the Christmas season I was in 6th grade.

Re: Computer Games

That seems a little odd. I'm not much older than you, and I was in my 20's somewhere when Atari's were popular. We had a pong but I don't know if it was the same one. (Pretty good game though. It also helped me quit smoking cause I just sat and played it all day and it took all my concentration. As a consequence, I got pretty good at it.)

Re: Computer Games

For tactical games I play SC2 and Allegiance.
Well... Allegiance is half tactical half fighter sim. Kind of like an RTS with real players as the units.

Re: Computer Games

Starcraft is pretty good, but I haven't played SC2 yet. I've also seen Portal, which appears to be good game too. I don't play computer games much, and Linux won't give you that much gaming options anyway.

Re: Computer Games

SC2 is really good, too good actually - dont start playing it and you wont get addicted, not to mention you will watch too much progames for your own good

Tetris is a amazing game too btw - full of math and logic!
