What is your general view of math?

Just thought I'd ask, maybe we can get some interesting statistics. (Albeit somewhat biased to the side of "I'm a math nut". )

Math is one of my favorite subject, and computer science is my favorite, too. Those two subjects are my life. Oh, and by the way... I'm thinking about proving mathematical equations in computer science when I grow up... so if I show up in news or something, then it's me

I never really went beyond basic math (for reasons outside my control), but ever since I became serious about life I've found it fascinating, in that it often does my head in, but I appreciate the logic and find it very rewarding when something clicks and everything makes sense.
I suspect that will happen a lot over the next several months.

I believe math is a very essential part of my life, allowing me to comprehend the world in a logical way. However, this is not everything to me; there are other parts of life that I deem as essential as logics: culture, sports, love, job ... These are the 5 most important points of my life, and I have consciously made the decision to equally pay attention to each of them. When you lay too much towards one side, I believe that, sooner or later, you realize a part of your life has passed you by. I would tend to think that it would be reasonable for someone to devote his whole life to mathematics only if he knows for sure that he's such a genius that he is going to deliver something big to humanity.

Those are my favorites, too. However, even though they are my two largest hobbies right now, there are lots of other things I like to do, too. I would say that mathematics and logic are very important to the way I live, but they are not my entire life. I do lots of other things, too, and my hobbies vary with time and where I currently am in life. For example, I did a lot less math/computer science before college than I do now. I've learned a lot more about those two subjects in college, and learning them well has been extremely beneficial to me in my college courses. If you know how to work numbers logically, and you know how to do it very well, then you are ahead of the game!

I guess it really depends on what you define as math. I do love mathematical thinking. I think it's a very beautiful though geeky thing. I dont' think it's the only way to make good decisions though as many do believe.
If you just mean math as in this homework laid out in front of me at this moment, the very stack of papers that I am procrastinating away from... probably I can use a fractured reality of existence
