 July 26th, 2019, 02:09 AM #1 Newbie   Joined: Jul 2019 From: south africa Posts: 1 Thanks: 0 Simplify Surds Hi I have to simplify this square root fraction: 10/√5 + √20 The answer is 4√5, but I do not get to that answer. Please help.
 July 26th, 2019, 06:04 AM #2 Senior Member   Joined: Jun 2019 From: USA Posts: 376 Thanks: 202 Try rewriting $\displaystyle \sqrt{20}$ as $\displaystyle \frac{\sqrt{20}\sqrt{5}}{\sqrt{5}}$ so you can add the fractions, and see if that helps.
