any help on this?

Recipe calls for 4 cups of sliced almonds.
You purchase a 2 pound bag for \$24.20.
Each bag contains 9.5 cups of almonds.
What is total cost for the almonds?

Thank you in advance.

Unclear. Do you mean: what is cost of 4 cups?

Math Focus: Mainly analysis and algebra
The total cost is \$24.20, but I don't think that's what you mean.
Thanks from Denis

If do you mean, what is the cost of 4 cups?

Then, calculate the cost of 1 cup almonds:

$\dfrac{19}{24.20}=\$0.78$(cost of 1 cup almonds)

$0.78\times 4=\$3.14$(cost of 4 cups almond)

The two pound bag contains 9.5 cups and costs \$24.20 per bag.

Cost per cup is $\dfrac{\$24.20}{9.5 \text{ cups}} \approx \$2.55$ per cup

Cost of 4 cups of almonds = (4/9.5) * \$24.20 = \$10.19.

Thanks @skeeter

First, we calculate the cost of 1 cup almonds, i.e.,

$\dfrac{24.20}{9.5}≈\$2.55$ per cup

So, cost of 4 cups almonds will be:

$\$2.55×4=\$10.20$(cost of 4 cups almonds)
