I'm not good at math and it sucks :(

Hello,

I'm 27 years old from Israel, where you have to be good at math in order to study engineering or computer science and get a good job in the technology industry. This is how it works in Israel.
All of my high school friends were good at math (and programming) and now, almost 10 years after high school and college, they've all got good jobs in companies like Google, Intel, IBM, etc., while I studied Philosophy and still work in a shitty job. It's just that I really suck at math.

Do you think I can put an effort and get good at math or should I accept that it is not for me? I want to be good at math to sign up to computer science and get a better job in the IT industry. Maybe I'm wasting my time writing this post, but I just had to write it and read your comments.

You seem to be considering only technology-related jobs, largely because many of your high school associates found jobs of that kind. Give more consideration to the things that you would enjoy doing. It would be a good idea to do some aptitude tests. If you find them difficult to do, try to identify why and find out whether you can improve your performance. If you can't, switch to aptitude tests for a different type of work.

Yes, I think you can put an effort and get good at math if you really want to.

In my opinion, if someone has a keen interest in something, then overcoming any obstacles (in your case, this might be math) is a lot easier than someone who doesn't have said interest. So, if you do have an interest in the technology industry, then simply 'accepting that it's not for me' isn't something to consider.

Is pursuing engineering or computer science what you really want to do? Or like skipjack said, is it just what your friends ended up doing, and you're following suit?
