Failing that, what methods are there for interacting in real-time over equations?

The $\LaTeX$ tools I developed for MHB don't allow two people to interact in real time, they do however allow a user, particularly $\LaTeX$ n00bs, to more easily construct $\LaTeX$ code for their posts.

Or will we have to do some espionage and some reverse engineering afterwards? Also I noticed that we can't add colors in our posts, we cannot highlight names or words. Code: does not work.

Well, I am not an administrator here, so I do not have the access to the templates required to do something like this here.

Now idea actually. But while I googled a little (like 'chat latex') I found this kind of page which at least says that it should be able to use latex in chat. But I haven't tried it, though. :\

It ought to be useful because it allows two people to interact in real-time. But I'd really like the freedom of a whiteboard too. Vyew.com has an equation editor, but it's a bit clunky and the user experience suffers as a result. There's a mathb.in type implementation (whose name I've forgotten) that allows one to save the document to Google Drive or Dropbox, but that's not really real-time.

Not yet, but you can by using $\color{blue}{\text{MathJax}}$.
