TI-84 Plus Silver Edition

Hello,

I am new member. May I ask a question?
I have a TI-84 Plus silver calculator. My math teacher reset my calculator before taking exam. When I brought home, the function of SIN, COS, TAN are mixed up.
For example, when compute TAN(45) , it came out wrong value 1.645, it should be 1. It is the same when I computed SIN and COS.
I need help this problem if anyone knows this.
Thanks

CN

Re: TI-84 Plus Silver Edition

Hello, superway,

Of course you may ask a question, that's what a forum is all about!

The default mode for angles is radians, and when your calculator was reset that was the angle mode it defaulted to. You should have a mode key, which when pressed will allow you to change angles back to degrees. I'm not sure of the exact way to do this on your calculator, but on my TI-89 Titanium, I press the mode key, then go down to angle and hit enter then choose between radians and degrees.

If yours is substantially different, consult your user's manual for the correct procedure to change the angle mode.

Glad to hear it!

I'm just curious, does your teacher allow you to upload your programs, etc. to a computer before resetting your calculator? I know when I was a student, I would have been very aggravated to lose all my programs and data.
