Math Research Sources???

Hi, to all members. I'm a college student and currently doing research proposal for my English subject. The title is "Determine Effective Ways of Teaching Mathematics to the IM student of AUP".
IM student refers to the Information Management course.
AUP refers to the Adventist University of the Philippines.

Right now I'm doing the chapter 2: Review of Related Literature.
In my demographic profile of students, I write this:
age, year in college, age, and education background.

Do you have any sources how does each demographic profile will influence the student skills in mathematics?
If yes, please share because we need it.
Thank you.

Aren't there articles out there on this? I would assume a journal database search (e.g. JSTOR) would be a more effective place to work on this.

Math Focus: Number theory, computational mathematics, combinatorics, FOM, symbolic logic, TCS, algorithms
JSTOR, Academic Search Complete, and such. Even Google Scholar is good for digging up some basics, especially if you're not quite sure where to start looking.
