Decimal To Fraction To Decimal

1/7 in decimal form equals 0.14285714285714285. How do I convert that decimal back to 1/7

1/7 is an infinite decimal, not finite as you have stated.

A = 0.14285714285714285...
Move the decimal until it lines up with itself:
A/10^6 = 0.00000014285714285...
subtract:
A (1-1/10^6) = 0.142857000000000...
solve for A
A = 142857/999999 = 1/7
