Dear All, I was wondering if someone can give me a hint on the problem I have. I came across (32,7) RM code that I am trying to decode. I was given the generator matrix that obviously contains R(1,5) and an extra row to decode 6 bits. i do not understand where this row comes from. How would you construct the first order RM code of (32,7)? The total n must be equal to 32. Plese note that i am not allowed to use the higher orders polynomials. The fact that i have m=7 (i.e. 7 information bits) does not follow standard mathematical definition for the RM code construction. Any comments will be highly appreciated. Many thanks, Regards John
