Normed space VS metric space

Can anyone explain what is the difference between metric and normed spaces? And if possible can you give me an example of a metric space that isn't normed?

Because I know that by definition every normed space is metric but I don't see how a metric space cannot be normed.

Did you find those stackexchange and other pdf links insightful? I certainly did. They contained many interesting examples of metrics that aren't derived from norms, as well as detailed technical explanations of why this phenomenon occurs.

What did you think of them?
