Fundamental LA Question

Refering to the question,

Yet the ans does not agree with the so-called '2x3' from the question!

Most likely there is a misprint, either in the question or in the answer.

can be a matrix with 2 rows and any number of columns; each column of will be of the form where is any nonzero real number.
