How to do latex on my blogspot

Hi, all.

Can I make my blog, which is provided by Google, fluent in writing mathematical expressions like this site? Several tries through ways gotten by Googling have failed, tears TT. Please help me.

Take care, all.

Re: How to do latex on my blogspot

I assume that you want to use Blogger.

I´ve tried several methods, but this is the one I´m lately using without known problems:

1) Registry on Blogger: http://www.blogger.com
2) Create a site on Google sites for keeping your files: https://sites.google.com
(Take a look at mine: https://sites.google.com/site/psychgeom/)
3) Create a Picassa album for including photos inside your blog.

You can do all of this steps with your same Google Account.

Now if you want to add LATEX functionality then:

Download this file: https://sites.google.com/site/psychg...edirects=0&d=1

And, if you want, change its name to for example: mylatex.js

Upload this file to your Google sites account and copy the link url

Then inside Blogger, on the configuration:

Design>Page Elements>Add a Gadget>HTML/JavaScript

Create a Gadget named, for example, LATEX and include inside it this HTML Code:

Code:
<script src="here include the link to your mylatex.js file" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
replaceMath( document.body );</script>
And that´s everything, now you can try to write a post including:

Code:
$latex \displaystyle S(n)=\sum_{k=1}^{n}{\frac{1}{T_{k}}=\sum_{k=1}^{n}{\frac{6}{k(k+1)(k+2)}$

Re: How to do latex on my blogspot

If you choose WordPress instead of Blogger you don´t need to do anything because is already implemented.

Other thing is that I made changes into the mylatex.js file, for Blogger,to call the latex interpreter the same way in both blogs, just to reuse the code.

But even though, there some issues:

In WordPress you can not have an opened bracket, without another closed bracket (As you might know, it is not easy to find out where the error is with this kind of problems: it took me two days of craziness)

Take a look at the differences:

http://psychedelic-geometry.blogspot...bisection.html

I wrote by email a question to WordPress to tell them the problem, but they ask me that there is no way to fix it.

Re: How to do latex on my blogspot

I really appreciate your concise but fully enough way to easily follow.
And sorry for this late reply. I have not been expecting any answer anymore since it was a long time ago that I posted it.
Thank you so much once again. I will try it right away.

All the best.

Re: How to do latex on my blogspot

Lots of people, who like mathematic but have trouble in doing it on the internet, are helped through this way. In addition, your articles will also give better insight into what they explain.
Keep up the good work.

Re: How to do latex on my blogspot

I could see the page that I applied "latex" to only when I pulished it.
I haven't realized it before so that I thought I did something wrong because the page continued to merely show me the source when I previewed. I hate my carelessness TT.

Re: How to do latex on my blogspot

The "latexcraft" is a hard art.

When you preview your post, you only can see the code, but its funcionality is disabled.

If you want to try your latex before, it is handy to use: http://rinconmatematico.com/latexrender/

"Borrar código" means "Delete code", and "Mostrar Fórmula" is "Show Formula" in spanish.

This forum provides LaTeX, thanks to julien. If you want to do LaTeX on your "blogspot", you need to learn some basic programming in order to make that happen.

Re: How to do latex on my blogspot

I found the simple way as:

1) Go to Blogger-->layout -->page elements -->add a gadget --> HTML/Javascript

2) Copy the code
Code:
<script src="http://www.watchmath.com/cgi-bin/mathtex3.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
replaceMath( document.body );</script>
and paste in content. Note: the title is empty. Click save.

3) Display: in your post, you show formular math with syntax:
Code:
$\latex $
Good luck
