Triangles $\displaystyle ABC$ and $\displaystyle CBE$ are similar. From that, you get $\displaystyle BC$. From acute triangle $\displaystyle EBF$ you can get $\displaystyle FE=CF=a$, and from that wanted area $\displaystyle a^{2}$. Last edited by skipjack; November 2nd, 2018 at 08:45 AM.
