Can anyone help me to understand the difference between the Cartesian plane and the coordinate plane? I know about Cartesian product, which is the set of ordered pairs of the product of two sets. As far as I understood coordinate plane is about plotting a point on the plane w.r. to an xcoordinate and a ycoordinate. Does the Cartesian plane mean the same? Thanks a lot! Cartesian system is a part of so many Coordinate systems. Like: Polar Coordinate system, Cartesian Coordinate system, Cylindrical Coordinate system etc. Hope this helps: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinate_system
