But rectangles are far easier, and cheaper, to produce than other shapes.

Yes, as I said before, you can cut solar panels to any shape you like. But rectangular solar panels are much easier and cheaper to make than any other shape so you would have to have a very good reason for wanting another shape. Thanks from jonah
