Analytical Geometry: Parallel line and plane

Hello everyone,

Today in my analytical geometry test I had absolutely no clue as to how to solve this problem:

[attachment=0:fmknh9sg]CodeCogsEqn (2).gif[/attachment:fmknh9sg]

a) Calculate a
b) Calculate d(l, V) (l = line, V = plane)

Thanks in advance if anyone can help!
