 December 17th, 2012, 01:55 AM #1 Member   Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 88 Thanks: 0 Trig/geometry help (triangles/finding sides) I have to find side 'R' L = 6.10 meters, theta = 36.9 degrees, and phi = 53.1 degrees. I don't see any way I can attempt this, I'm very rusty with my trig. We have a known side and a right angle, but I don't see how I can make any other angles (since we only have one side I'm assuming I need to get an angle somewhere

 December 20th, 2012, 02:35 PM #3 Senior Member   Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 148 Thanks: 0 Re: Trig/geometry help (triangles/finding sides) $\theta= 36.9^{\circ} \; and \; \phi = 53.1^{\circ}$ so it is 3:4:5 triangle... Pythagorian triangle. $R=L \cdot \sin \theta = 6.1 \cdot 0.6 = 3.66$
