Analytic Geometry

Anyone?

Derive the angle between two curves on a surface.

Re: Analytic Geometry

If the two curves are given by f(x) and g(x), I would think the angle between them at a given x could be found by:

$\theta=\tan^{-1}\left(f'(x)\right)-\tan^{-1}\left(g#39;(x)\right)$

Thanks

Re: Analytic Geometry

Can you give me the derivation, because that's what I need?

Re: Analytic Geometry

There really was no derivation, this is merely the difference in slope angles.
