We can look at the ratios: $\displaystyle \frac{40}{27}\approx1.48$ $\displaystyle \frac{45}{30}=1.5$ So the 45% bottle is the better deal with regards to alcohol to dollar.

At $30.00 that is 3000/337.5= 8.89 cents per ml 750 ml at 40% contains (750)(0.40)= 300 ml of alcohol. At $27.00 that is 2700/300= 9 cents per ml. Is that really the basis of your decision which to buy? Which will get me drunker for the dollar?
