My Math Forum Checking the accuracy of answer of this simplification

 June 13th, 2014, 07:14 PM #1 Senior Member     Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 745 Thanks: 7 Checking the accuracy of answer of this simplification I was given this to evaluate: $\displaystyle 6\bigg(1-\frac{7}{16}\bigg)^{\frac{-1}{2}}\times 2^{-1}$. When finished, I got my final answer as 4. Is it correct? How do I check whether my answer is correct or wrong in such simplification or evaluation?
