How did you get this equation?

I thought it is $n \= \ n(n-1)$

n = 10

2 * 10C2 = 2 * 45 = 90

10(10 - 1) = 90

8*7 = 56
7*6 = 42
6*5 = 30
5*4 = 20
4*3 = 12 (not shown)
3*2 = 6
