Hi All, I have this question for my son's homework: Explain how knowing that 5/8 = 0.625 helps you write the decimal for 4 5/8 I know 4 5/8 is 37/8 = 4.625 not sure how knowing the above answer wil help me to write the decimal for 4 5/8 Any help will be appreciated. One of those questions that's so simple you rack your brain trying to figure out the answer because the obvious answer is too simple. $\displaystyle 4\frac 5 8= 4+\frac 5 8 = 4 + 0.625 = 4.625$ Last edited by skipjack; August 20th, 2019 at 02:55 AM.
