I have hitches with this problem: Ava bought some items at the cost \$600 and was given 5% commission, how much did he pay for the item? I got \$570 as the amount he paid because I am thinking that the 5% commission is a form of discount. Please am a bit confuse with the wording of the problem. If there is any person here that understands the wording better than I do, please help. Last edited by greg1313; January 27th, 2019 at 03:35 PM.

No, I don't understand. Buyers do not usually get a commission. If a sales person buys an item, I suppose that may generate a commission. What is the commission based on? Why do you think 570 dollars is incorrect?
