I'm not great at math, so I'm looking for help. Here are my numbers: I drive a truck with approximately a 16L/100KM (urban) fuel economy, and I'm looking at driving a rough total of 22,000KM (13,700M) trip through the United States. I'm accounting for conversion of metric to standard and CAD to USD. Fuel economy: 16L/100KM Average price per litre: 1.73USD Distance: 22,000KM Conversion $USD/CAD: 1.33 22000/100*16*1.73*1.33 = ~$8,100CAD. Have I done this correctly? I think your estimate of gas price at 1.73 USD per liter is a bit high. Highest cost these days is a bit above \$3.00 per gallon in California which is about \$0.80 per liter $\approx$ 1.06 CAD. Of course, Trump's recent bellicose actions in the Middle East and elsewhere tends to make the cost of oil go up, so your estimate might not be that far off in the next few months. So to convert litres per 100 km to miles to a U.S. gallon, use this formula instead. 235.22 ÷ (L/100 km) = miles per gallon Last edited by Timios; April 18th, 2017 at 02:18 PM.
