 November 25th, 2016, 03:12 PM #1 Member   Joined: Nov 2016 From: United States Posts: 30 Thanks: 0 one more question if a recipe for strawberry pie calls for 1.5 pints of cleaned and trimmed strawberries and the yield percent is 91 percent and 1 cup of cleaned and trimmed strawberries weighs 7 oz, how many pounds of strawberries will you need to buy? Any help would be awesome! Thank you!

$1.5 pints = 3 cups$

$3 cups = (3)7oz=21 oz$

pre-cleaning this is

$\dfrac{21oz}{0.91} = 23.077 oz$

$1 lb = 16 oz$

$23.077 oz = \dfrac{23.077oz}{16 oz/lb} = 1.442 lb$
