$3 cups = (3)7oz=21 oz$ precleaning this is $\dfrac{21oz}{0.91} = 23.077 oz$ $1 lb = 16 oz$ $23.077 oz = \dfrac{23.077oz}{16 oz/lb} = 1.442 lb$
