Hello everyone. I have been trying to solve a simple algebra problem and am stuck. I was wondering if anyone might explain how I find the solution? (variable x .13) + variable = 170 I used to be a whiz at math in high school, but can't remember how to do this.

Given y × p + y = c, where p isn't 1, write the equation as y(p + 1) = c. It then follows that y = c/(p + 1).
