How are you suppose to figure out this problem? 5 gal + 4 pt

For example

are you suppose to find out how much is 5 gals, 4 pts, 8 gals
then use PEMDAS to do the equation.

for example
5 gals = 18.9271 Liter Google says.
4 Pints = 1.89271 Liter
8 gals = 30.2833 Liter

18.9271 + 1.89271 - 30.2833

20.81981 - 30.2833 = 9.463349

Am I correct?

What is the original problem? I doubt you should be converting to liters.

1st: are you serious?
2nd: if so, what grade are you in?
3rd: how many pints in a gallon?
