What computer?
No breakdown given by this mysterious computer?

Finally able to figure out your messy problem; 601.51 is correct.

Sales: 11,068.00 - 488.65 = 10,579.35
.07(10,579.35 - 5000.00) = 390.55
Earnings before deductions = 480.00 + 390.55 = 870.55

Fica, medicare, disability, state = 6.2 + 1.45 + 1 + 3.4 = 12.05%
870.55 - .1205(870.55) = 765.65

Federal charged on 870.55 - 140.38 = 730.17
Federal tax (per table) = 80.60 + .25(730.17 - 696.00) = 89.14

NET PAY = 765.65 - 89.14 - 75.00 = 601.51

Apologies to "the computer"

Awe, Thanks sooooo Much Denis!!! You're amazing!! I truly thank you for all your time!! I will work on this one, and the other you helped me with...I was able to pass my quiz without sadly answering a question like this...but I do want to know that I can do this, and learn where my mistake was...so again thanks so much for helping me get closer to seeing what I should have done, and where I went wrong!! You're a life saver!!
