Turret From the aiming question, what is the difference between p+st = q+vt st=(q-p)+vt let q-p=w (st)^2=(w+vt)^2 (st)^2=w*w+2(w*v)t+(v*v)t^2 0=w*w+2(w*v)t+(v*v-s*s)t^2 and this p+st = q+vt 0=(q-p)+(v-s)t let q-p=w v-s=z 0=(w+zt)^2 w*w+2(z*w)t+(z*z)t^2 Why do I get two different looking solutions? Turret Aiming Question From the aiming question from this site (http://www.reddit.com/r/gamedev/comment ... la/c7vbu2j) what is the difference between p+st = q+vt st=(q-p)+vt let q-p=w (st)^2=(w+vt)^2 (st)^2=w*w+2(w*v)t+(v*v)t^2 0=w*w+2(w*v)t+(v*v-s*s)t^2 and this p+st = q+vt 0=(q-p)+(v-s)t let q-p=w v-s=z 0=(w+zt)^2 w*w+2(z*w)t+(z*z)t^2 Why do I get two different equations? SORRY FOR DOUBLE POST, I ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED ENTER, AND THE FORUM DOESN'T LET ME EDIT May 29th, 2013, 10:16 AM #3 Newbie   Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 7 Thanks: 0 Re: Why doesn't this work? Turret Equation isnt the same even if I replace the w with (p-q) and z with (v-s). June 1st, 2013, 09:48 PM #4 Newbie   Joined: Mar 2013 Posts: 7 Thanks: 0 Re: Why doesn't this work? Turret Hello?
