give a verbal description of the set A − B in terms of gates and defects. I truely do not understand how to do gates and defects. I can't seem to find anything in my book nor online. Can anyone help me.

Can you say what gates and defects are? What is the context? If you are working from a book or class or website they must defined those terms before asking you about them. And writing down the exact technical definitions of things is always the first step of working out any proof.
