Computer Olympiads

What type of olympiads are there in the subject of computers? (for example: programming contests, etc.)

There are quite a few different types:

*write a program that does x in less time than it takes for your competition to write it;
*write a program with a lower time complexity
*write an AI that beats opponent AIs
*write a program that does x in fewer lines of code

and one of the more ridiculous:
*Write the most complicated one line program you can (Often done in C or C++)

That's just a few. Most of the competitions are organized by groups online, or through universities, although if you're in high school (?) I'm sure you could find some; just talk to some of your teachers.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I'm currently in high school, so I'll try to talk to my teachers about it. There are a lot of programming contests (AI including), like you've mentioned above. I was also curious if there is other types of computer contests. Is there only programming contests in the subject of computers?

I'm not quite sure in answer to your last question, but there are a good deal of electronic competitions that aren't necessarily computer-related...

I can't think of a computer related competition that isn't programming, because, well... that's how computers work.
