I am up against an ultimate hard task with my homework. I must organize an optimal cost saving work scheduling table with excel Here is link for the whole case (question 2; the second half of the text) http://itdc.im.cyut.edu.tw/~jerry/op...n/ch11Cas2.pdf I think this is ultimate hard to solve by hand. I donīt assume you know how this is solved but if you can help me I am more than thankful!

Calculate the number of hours you need. To get the best price you want to shoot for about half fulltime and half parttime. Parttime employees are easy to schedule, so start with the fulltime employees and try to fit them in as best you can. Once you schedule in half the hours that way, fill the rest with parttime workers. Now move on to figuring out the split between baggers and stockers, keeping in mind the requirements. Once you have that, move on to fairness issues in terms of who works what shifts.

Glad to help. Let us know how this goes (and if you need help again, feel free to post).
