suppose $f(z)$ had an antiderivative $F(z)$ What is $\displaystyle{\int_{\mathscr{L}}}~f(z)~dz$ for some path $\mathscr{L}$ with endpoints $1$ and $2+i$ ? do the two path integrals you are asked to do agree in value? What does this suggest about the ability of $F(z)$ to exist?
