Metals Corrosion.

What are the parameters for Metals Corrosion or Rusting?. Do the amount of Corrosion vary with different metals with respect to time?
Examples - Iron,Steel,Magnesium,Zinc,Aluminium etc.

What do Statistical data reveal in different amount of Metals corrosion?

I.e Iron will corrode earlier than Steel ?
Which metal will rust at the earliest and at the last with respect to time?

Thanks & Regards,
Prashant S Akerkar

Yes some metals are more corrosion resistant than others. Take stainless steel for example.

In any case, there is plenty of empirical data about all grades of steel. You can check with the supplier.

You should try using google.com for more help.

Thanks.

What are the parameters or properties which leads to more or less corrosive or rusting in metals with respect to time?

As you mentioned Stainless steel is more corrosive resistance than other metals, what is the reason?

Do we have the Statistical data of all corrosive properties of metals?

Thanks & Regards,

Ok. The following is not intended to be demeaning or anything or the sort. It's simply me trying to help you, to help yourself.

1. Open your browser and navigate to a search engine. Google, bing, any is fine.

2. Try a few searches like, "Why is stainless steel more corrosion resistant than other metals?", "What causes metals to corrode?", "Why so metals corrode?", "What is the rate at which a certain metal corrodes?", "Data on metal corrosion" etc.

You may have to change your wording or questions to discover what you want. However, you will find answers almost instantly (as opposed to waiting for replies here). And note that one search won't necessarily net you what you are looking for. These things can take time and often one answer will lead to a new question.

Think about how rapidly you can acquire information with the internet at your fingertips, use it as an incentive should you be so curious about so many different things.
