Can not figure out how to formulate equation

Hi everyone,

I am working on a project about the "brachistochrone curve". I understand all steps and rules, except one. This is the proof of the brachistochrone curve I am using:

And if I have it correct this is angle ϕ:


Which they use to formulate the equation like this (you'll also find it when you scroll down a bit at the proofwiki page):


But how do they get to that?

I'd be very thankful if anyone'd be able to help me out with this,
