Hi everyone, I am working on a project about the "brachistochrone curve". I understand all steps and rules, except one. This is the proof of the brachistochrone curve I am using: https://proofwiki.org/wiki/Brachistochrone It comes down to this: And if I have it correct this is angle ϕ: Which they use to formulate the equation like this (you'll also find it when you scroll down a bit at the proofwiki page): But how do they get to that? I'd be very thankful if anyone'd be able to help me out with this, Thanks a lot, Sander. Last edited by sander2798; February 27th, 2015 at 11:10 AM.
